Abstract
This thesis investigates the feasibility of automatically generating an augmented reality assembly and maintenance guide. The data creation for this guide would be integrated into the release process of a product model and would be accessible as soon as the models and parts lists were available. This did unfortunately not go according to plan. While the examination of the model and the data generation worked perfectly, the issue with tracking the product could not be fixed. The end result was a program that can analyse the model and generate the necessary data as well as an AR experience that can place the parts over a marker and show a step by step guide. But even though the project did not result in a prototype that could augment the image of the real object, we can still draw technical knowledge about the development environment from this.
