Abstract

3D-Applications use diverse schemes to generate a manifold of landscapes and items out of limited shapes. Instead of constructing new forms with the help of the popular affine transformations, a CAD kernel can generate these at run-time. While new possibilities arise from these liberties, models are however not readily suitable for displaying. In this paper, CadQuery, a Python library for programmatic description of 3D objects, is integrated into TallShipEngine, an XR engine. We highlight the required changes in software architecture and techniques to apply generated geometry with low overhead, and show use cases, advantages and limitations of this approach.
